Class A Roll-Off Driver

Level/Salary Range: $20 – $30/hr DOQ

Job Summary

The Class A Roll-Off Driver (Driver) drives Bobtail Roll-Off Trucks with and without trailers and Combination trucks as required to meet the needs of the various projects. The driver will coordinate with the Transportation Manager, the Superintendent and other stakeholders to ensure the needs of the project are met, and to enable the business to run efficiently while maintaining high levels of quality control and compliance. The driver is responsible for following all safety and compliance requirements including all paperwork, logs, and inspections, including the safe operation of the vehicle. Drivers report to the Transportation Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

Operate a bobtail roll-off truck with and without a trailer.
Operate a combination truck & roll-off trailer.
Preform safety and equipment checks and the beginning and end of each work shift.
Proficient in DOT regulations including placarding and manifesting.
Properly secure and deliver to various job sites throughout the central valley.
Properly secure and safely transport loaded bins to various disposal facilities located in California & Nevada.
Prepare and submit company paperwork on a daily basis including trip sheets, shipping papers, weight tickets in a timely manner.
Maintain full compliance with DOT, Daily ELD Logs, and vehicle inspection reports.
Work may be extended (> 8 hrs.) time periods.
Work may require out of town layovers on out of state trips and larger projects. Home most nights.
Manage workload and continually revise schedule and priorities based on manager direction and customer requirements.
Must monitor and maintain quality standards.
Ensure personal safety and safety of coworkers by safely performing all duties in accordance with company policy, regulations, and all applicable health and safety regulations.
Monitor and ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA/CalOSHA, and General Industry Standards.
Skills, Abilities and Experience
The ability to wear and properly use a variety of personal protective Equipment (PPE), to include respirators, skin, face, hand and foot protection in a multiple number of combinations.
Ability to measure and compute rate, ratio, percentages and do other basic math related to the position.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Experience in a dynamic job shop/site environment.
Must be able to troubleshoot related problems.
Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Education/Training, and Certifications
Valid California Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat Endorsement. Clean driving record.
Forklift license/experience strongly preferred.
Construction materials experience: 3 years strongly preferred.
Hazardous Materials experience strongly preferred.
Must be able to pass the “Live Scan” background check required for military bases, etc.
